Extended Income Protection Cover

Cover that goes even further

What is it?

Once you have Temporary Income Protection from Bidvest Life you can add Extended Income Protection. This pays out up to 100% of your insured income until retirement in the event of a long-term injury or illness, even if you’re not permanently disabled.

How does it work?

With Extended Income Protection from Bidvest Life, your payments will start at the end of your Temporary Income Protection benefit term (the period for which a claim will be paid) of 3, 6, 12, or 24 months.

Who can get cover?

If you have Temporary Income Protection from Bidvest Life you qualify for Extended Income Protection. We offer extended income protection to a wide range of occupations. This includes business owners, salaried individuals, commission or contract workers, freelancers and even students and homemakers.

Why you need it

Extended Income Protection helps you to continue paying for your monthly expenses and any additional expenses that can often arise due to an extended injury or illness. Even if you have medical aid, it will help you cover unexpected shortfalls.

”We offer Extended Income Protector for traditional occupations while for high-risk occupations, commission earners, freelancers, contractors, students and stay at homemakers we created Event Based Income from Bidvest Life.”

How much does it cost?

You can insure as little as R1 000 of your monthly income. Premiums start from just R100 per month.

What could you claim for?

Some of the more common examples of claims on the Extended Income Protector are for heart disease, chronic back conditions, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, impaired vision and blindness, cancer, Motor neuron disease and physical impairments (for example, amputations).
