Income protection is insurance for your income or salary. If your child is diagnosed with a listed serious illness or a permanent childhood disability, Child Protector from Bidvest Life will pay out a monthly income.
If your child is diagnosed with a listed serious illness or a permanent disability, you are covered for up to 50% of your after-tax monthly income, capped at R15 000 per month. Payments will be made monthly for up to 24 months and may continue up to age 18 if your child meets the Childhood Disability definition
You can take out Child Protector for any of your children between 1 year old and 17 years old.
This benefit is a must-have for any parent who wants to have financial security that they will be able to cover the additional costs incurred if their child is diagnosed with a serious childhood illness by receiving a monthly income pay out from Bidvest Life. Medical aid may not sufficiently cover the medical costs if a child is diagnosed with a critical illness, nor will it cover the ongoing monthly costs should a parent decide to take time off work or need to employ a caregiver.
